Hi again Kosta,

I need your help

To all: I hope, it is ok, if I put a few questions regarding other bases in Greece, also in this thread?

1. ES-711 ex Alexandria -> Any idea where it is now?
2. Maybe I am stupid, but I can´t find the Noratlas in Amygdaleza. Do you have any Google Earth coordinates?
3. The same about the Noratlas in Edessa!
4. I was searching for the F-5 in Stylida, but didn´t find it. I read then, that it is now in Lamia! Do you know where?
5. Somebody told me (or I read it somewhere) that a F-5 should be preserved in a village, somewhere near Meligala by Kalamata?
6. Is the Sabre at Tatoi in 342 Moira colors, 19146?
7. I found in the Veria city archive, a reference from 2006, about the building of a pole for a F-5 in the city! Do you know anything about it?

I know, this are a lot of questions, but I would be already very satisfied, if you could answer one of them :D

Thank again and sorry for occupying the thread ...

I think I meant these ones indeed. I must admit I looked only briefly with a small pair of binoculars and apparently misidentified one as an F-4 too. Great info by the way, thanks!

Kostas,
To be sure we are talking about the same group of aircraft, can you give the Google Earth coordinates of this group.

Post by Freeman Lowell »

Notes from sunny Greece.

I’ve a few questions arising from our jaunt to Greece last month, but before I start asking those it’s appropriate that I post some of what we saw first.
Starting with the results from an escorted tour around the storage area at Thessaloniki Mikra.

Should have mentioned  that I have a word document available that details the relative positions of the stored F-5s, if it helps anyone.

Dekelia

Post by Spotter2000 »

There were still some question marks for some aircraft at Dekelia Tatoi but I received some answers from the museum itself. The silver TF104G was the 62-12274 with the tail of the 12278, it will bes restored to become 12274 (the oldest TF104G in HAF service) The silver N2501 Noratlas is the 53-258. The Sabre 202 is the 19169, the Sabre with the yellow tail is the 19164 and the one with the red tail is the 19168.

Hi Nathan,
Neil tells me that you've been passed a photo showing the three F-16s in the hanger at Larissa that you were asking about.
Are you able to confirm the serials please?
Thanks,
Freeman
