Forum rules
ImageThis is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum.
Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post.
In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.).

Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so.

Some great shots from there. A shame you use such a high shutterspeed for props and helos. I always like when you get prop/rotor blur. And to be honest I absolutely hate your angled web adress on all the photos, such a shame.

Davy, he gives well-meant feedback on how he experiences watching, in this case. You could read 'pity' i.s.o. 'shame' (and I agree with him).

I don't agree... it's something personal from Dave, so why do we always want to comment on it in negative way (yes, this looked negative).....

I like the shots very much. Especially the C-17 (0184) in take-off and the Michigan herc..... nice ones!

Hi Key,

My assumtion is that if he didn't ask for comments like "better this, pitty that", why do we always give those?

I think, taking pictures is as personal as spotting itself, and if this is the way he (but could mean everybody with that) is doing it, then let him....

But that's just my two cents.....

Chaps, let's get a few things straight here.

- Posting your photos on a forum means evoking reactions. That is what forums are for. The only thing 'living in a free country' has to do with that is the fact we are able to run this forum.
- If you don't want feedback, just put your photos on your own site. If you only want positive feedback, put them on A.net (after you get past the screeners there will be no more negative comments). 8)
- However, the users of the Scramble forums, appreciate photos posted by anyone. Apart from ohh and ahh we sometimes show that appreciation by giving useful feedback, including what we think could be improved. Egon is a fine example of someone putting effort in that time and again, you will see so if you care to look up some of his comments.
- Nevertheless, the average reaction to photos here is 'great pics!', even to an extent that makes me wonder if some people can look at any photo at all and not think it is great. That is the main reason I still can not figure where the idea of 'always giving comments in a negative way' comes from. I certainly don't, I usually stay silent if I am not impressed by photos.

Now Davy, you have my respect just by shooting decent photos in Kabul, a place that is tough for both photographer and equipment. We welcome more shots here in the photo forum and you will see more reactions. Additionally, you can always just promote your website in the forum for that (this Photo forum is just for showing pics).

Sorry for causing such a stir :?

Exactly!
If my wording caused people (and especially Davy) to see it as negative feed back then please accept my aplogies.
I myself prefer constructive feed back over "wow nice pics"-type of comments. Its they best way to learn and improve I think.
