Hi all,
I've seen several aircraft-topics so far. But as far as I remember I haven't seen a photo topic on
the mighty GRUMMAN F-14 TOMCAT the most beautiful aircraft ever build.
I was asked by a moderator of a Tomcat forum to post some shots there, so I digitalized some old
slides and processed a lot of digital shots taken during a visit to the USA in 2005.

Not the best quality, but nice colours i never saw afterwards.
Nellis '93.
Miramar '89, my best Tomcat day ever with around 55 different F14's flying and more then 100 different aircraft in the landing during a Topgun excercise.

Re: GRUMMAN F-14 TOMCAT
Miramar 1987. Disappointing visit: I was on base, but wasn't allowed to take photos. It hurts to see (and touch) a platform filled with full-colour F-14s, E-2s, A-4 and F-5s. Even USMC F-4s were there. I could only shoot a few aircraft from the rotten spot next to the highway in the evening. The next day the wind had turned and they landed on the westside.

In their normal habitat.....
On the right side you can see a very famous japanese photographer, later that day he was able to fly the 3rd Tomcat, side-by-side to the coloured 100 and 101.

Maybe made at that day as well.

Re: GRUMMAN F-14 TOMCAT
Yep, that's him.
The photo on Check-6 has CV-63 in the background, in 2006 it was on the USS Roosevelt (CVN-71)
He was allowed to fly Tomcat #3, while I had to remain on deck
His photo was in a some magazines during 2006. Black-tailed 100 and red-tailed 101 of VF-31 in formation, while the USS Roosevelt was below them. Katsu was invited by the US Navy to fly the Tomcat that day.......

This might be the Tomcat with Katsu in the backseat, because it isn't the 100 or 101......
