Hier is nog zo'n slaperd. Ligt gewoon te slapen in het gras op Fairford met een F-4 full ab voor zijn neus.
Maar hier is ie wel erg actief. Ziet zeker een koffietent.....

Hi guys,

Found some picas, if you have a day off or did not have a job, and it is March-expecting spring weather, we took our challenge to drive without winter-tyres to Spang and Ramstein..
It was early March 2006 and this is what we experienced that day, snow snow and snow some 40cms!! :fist:
In Binsfeld we try to drive to the AMC-ramp, we made it but don't know how......
Image
Per and I in the snow, hmmm it s more comfortable in the car, bloudy cold outside!
Image
My car runs on LPG but finding a gasstation with LPG in Germany is not always easy but close to Spangdahlem at Badem we found one but, getting there...........
Image
Image
Around Ramstein some 40cms of snow that day, walking behind the main gate close to the fence brings us some extra C-5 and C-17s numbers.... Thats the hobby!

Cold Regards,

Maurits

Typical Ramstein boredom...

Slighty less boredom after the Satenas Airshow - I think it was 2006:

Two guys from our Team are working at Weekends for an Musicband as "Roadies"...
so they know how to use space in a car or truck.

Hi all,

Found some more, here some pics of the worse HAT-busstrip in our spotting career, RIAT 2006, a day we never forget. The bus drove on with a flat/broken tyre for almost 150km I think, just close to Fairford we have to stop. The bus could not drive and the driver parkes the bus in a small road near the bushes. Friendly UK police man arranged a local bus that came from Swindon and brought us finally to the showground, what a mess.......
Image
On the way back we got this British-coach....come on hurry up!!
Image
and didn't realize how long it takes our journey back to Holland.....
Image
Luckily most of our UK-trips were done by our own car, farmer Johns campsite at the western-approach at Midlenhall is a good place to stay.....
Image
Image
Sometimes it is good to make your own dinner. In darkness we managed to stay on the MacDonalds parking side to prepare our late-dinner@23.00hrs....
Image

to be continued..... 8)

Maurits

Some more UK-trips pics, like this ''off the road'' with my Toyota Corolla stationcar at Coningsby, July 2001 during a Mirage F1 rotation. The Spanish CN235 was a parked behind the shelterarea, hard to reach from the normal road. But no problem for the real spotter to drive as much you can to take a good picture of it....
Image
On the other side the taxi-track has good photo-opportunities, like catching this Mirage F1CE by Per and me.
Image
During the RIAT2000@Cottesmore we had a good stay at the campsite close to the base as you can see...
Image

Who remembers the famous spottingplace in the forest @Bruggen??
To be honest it is history now, here some wintertime shots from us staying on a cold day in February 1999 with snow and a lot of grey Tornado GR1/4s.....
Image
In the period having an OV-train card but no car, cycling through the forest hunting Tornado's in the shelter-area was part of the job if you go to Bruggen. I was struggling in the mud somewhere in the nineties....
Image

Fence and tree-climbing are basic-skills of a spotter, here @Valkenburg....
