And then the Bulldogs came to fight the Wolfhounds.
Don't know the exact date but I thing its the summer of 84, when the 525 TFS came in for a DACT with the 32 TFS,so the 32nd could do some practice for the William Tell that year. This was a very welcome visit for "the boys from the fence" : The 525 brought a D model 3 C models, from one of them had a colored 525 squadron patch on the intake. Most of the Bitburg birds did not carry any patch or it was a tone down one. Squadrons had to be reconized be the tail color. One of the visiting 525 aircraft once belonged to the 32 TFS: the 78 549.
Images are made from slides made by John Lekkerkerker. I was standing beside him taking them in black and white, I prefer the colored ones: thank you John!

Since we already made some diversions to the nineties as well, here a "ratjetoe" of visitors in the 80's and 90's. Not the best quality, but still worth sharing I guess.

My alltime favorite aircraft in my favorite livery at one of my favorite airbases. Unfortunally not
a very good pic...but I do like the 'clean' configuration and the dragchute!
Nevertheless a credit for Peter Terlouw for his assistance to get this pic here!

It's just deploy from the first F-104G , the other chute is from the one at the back.

Rotation with 298 Squadron and Danish Haer Fl resulted in a nice formation
Test flight of the 79-0018/CR ending in an emergency landing
and being towed back to maintenance
nice sight in 1984 with a KC-10A and a landing F-15

Nice subjects, everyone of them. However, I have one tip for you all;
hold back on the de-noising software (NoiseNinja, Neat Image), because frequently, the grass and the wood in the background blur too much.
Otherwise, keep posting!
Hans.

The following pic seems to be disappeared at page 50 for some reason and I don't know why:
