Re: [PICS] New Demo F16 Klu(RNLAF)
I think you should see it from full top or full bottom than it might show something typical Dutch.
For me so far the benefit of the doubt. ( it will stand out against allmost any type of weather however, so good pictures won't be the problem this year.)
Regards Pete

Now that I've seen him from above (Telegraaf), I think I like him. Better than last year.

Re: [PICS] New Demo F16 Klu(RNLAF)
For the first time they have now painted the nose cone black. Does this mean the aircraft will be phased out after service with the demo team? I thought painting the nose cone makes the aircraft's radar unserviceable..
Must say I like the design better now that I've seen the Telegraaf/Defensie picture, just hope it's not as 'shiny/blingbling' in full sun as the first Woensdrecht pic showed.

Ok, Now also pictures form above a released, I do see there is actually a scheme, but most of the time you won't see the aircraft from above but from left or the rights sight, and to my opinion there are than some strange dark orange stripes on the tail and fuselage.

It just flew over The Hague, in a three ship...
One 'normal' F-16 and the new demo together,
the old demo followed them... real nice...

I believe the Problem was that the Nose cone had to be painted with a special type of paint wich wasn't availble last time they painted a demo, maybe they specially orderd that paint this year.DJdeRidder wrote:For the first time they have now painted the nose cone black. And probably worst of all: a Tiger (313) is painted as a Lion (ex 315) .

Wonderfull,
Let's hope this one also remains for three years.
It would have been fun however would the RNLAF roundel (the round one) on the upper left wing (near the feet of the lion) been placed a little more left and a little more towarths the cockpit....
We would have had a great mascotte in the air for the soccer games in 2010
Greetings,
Henk

Re: [PICS] New Demo F16 Klu(RNLAF)
I was at Volkel to watch the new demo bird up close and had a quick word with Chris Vaneker. He told me they were very happy to get permission to paint the entire aircraft including the nose cone but painting this small part (with special paint) was almost as expensive as painting the entire fuselage, wings and tail together!LV84 wrote:I believe the Problem was that the Nose cone had to be painted with a special type of paint wich wasn't availble last time they painted a demo, maybe they specially orderd that paint this year.DJdeRidder wrote:For the first time they have now painted the nose cone black. Is this a copy of our national soccer team shirt? Not original, what a defeat! I hope I'm going to like it in the future...

Be proud of the Dutch lion! Personally I think it's really nice, like the orange and especially the nice lion.Jacco wrote:Is this a copy of our national soccer team shirt? Not original, what a defeat! I hope I'm going to like it in the future...
By the way, what's wrong with soccer?
