Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Some nice shots. It would be nice if you had some more rotorblur. How did you know she was flying there?

Sven

Rotorblur on Chinooks is very hard to accomplish as the rotor RPM is relatively low on the ChinookSven van Roij wrote:Some nice shots. It would be nice if you had some more rotorblur. How did you know she was flying there?

Chinooks in the wild, nice captures..!! Yeah, rotoblur with this guy isn't really possible unless it hovers on the spot or on the ground and you use a tripod..Just check with Redskin301!.. You did well..!

Well, rotorblur on a Chinook is possible, check out some of the EHGR topics.... It's very hard, that's true however, they do hover/land on the heide, don't they?
But back to the question; how did you know they were flying, I would like to go there some day too!

I heard it on the scanner . The landing zone was far away from where I was standing, behind the treelines on the fist foto.
The made a turn from where I was standing.

Nice pictures! I like the first one because I can almost hear that beast coming from behind the trees
The third one has a lot of action in it! Love it
