N764NA was a B767 of North American.

and the second KC-135R of Tinker, seems to be tdy after all. It returned early Saturday morning 25/04 from a mission and left again early in the afternoon on the 25th.

Hi Richard,

It was 58-0066 that returned from mission (this is the tdy tanker) and Okie99 left on sat morning back home, so no tdy for this tanker.

58-0066 is due to depart back home on Tuesday.

Must have remembered incorrectly then. I think both Niagarea Hercs were on the ramp though on Friday.

We checked our SBS logs for that night/morning and it definitely stated 37985 as returning to ETAR... So beats me who is right in this case. Did you read the Tanker off upon its return to Ramstein?

Ps: 63-7985 was read on departure during Saturday morning back home. He did NOT fly a mission during the night, that was 58-0066....

I can tell you, Oscar beat you, because he is telling you the right answer.
And for your info. Last week Tinker KC-135 58-0066 was using the hexcode from the 63-7985. That's why there are 2 tailnumbers mentioned behind his hexcode.

Hexcode and tailnumbers is all depending on what database you use of course...

Hey it's all fine by me- it's not a question of who is beating who. I have read both of them with eyeball mk1, and that is what matters to me. I saw 37985 depart myself that Saturday morning and there's no doubting you there.

As far as I know the hexcodes especially on AMC traffic are quite accurate and that is why I am wondering if any of you have actually read off the aircraft personally or not.

I can confirm that 37985 depart Saturday morning. And this aircraft flew no mission from here. Came in, parked on Ramp 4 and depart on Saturday.

Hi Richard,

It was read off by a good friend, besides I saw flightplan (but that doesn't count for me either).

As for the accuratesse of SBS codes. They are NOT. Too often a/c swapped, or they just changed the transponder to another a/c. Perhaps reliable for 90% (but even that's high!), so always check with eyball confirmation and never rely on it. But hey, that's my opinion.

At least you can change your database for this one
