That's what I was hoping for too, when I saw this Lechfeld message http://www.scramble.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=52081" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Was the mission canceled while the aircraft were on-route today?
Because some dutch F-16's with IGLU callsigns did some playing in de TRA, using temporary SNAKE callsigns.
Later they went back to Florennes with their IGLU callsigns (16?, 20?).

joris,
Mission was indeed cancelled, it was to be a mission above the UK, the Tanker from Mildenhall wasn't available, and another part of the mission(didn't quite understand what) was also not available in the UK. Some aircraft flew already above the UK, others already returned after crossing the Dutch /Belgium border.

This was due to high winds at EGUN.

Therefore also a very, very nice E-8 diverted in into Fairford because the tanker couldn't get airborn also..... whoops, that's a little bit off topic here..... :drinking:

Any word if the FAF and SPAF a/c stayed?

Bye the way,

Mirage 2000D 616/133-XH was waiting on the runway for a while as last aircraft and taxied back to platform. So did not take off after all. Don't know if that was due to technical reasons or because the mission was cancelled above the UK.
Anyway, no Nancy-Ochey 2000D's departed today.

Thanks!

p.s. anyone for a full log of the Belgian F-16s?

I noted on the platform closest to the fence, where some party tents were raised, the following two:

FA-115 nmk - not 100% sure
FA-117/FS

Furthermore flying: FA-103 nmk, FA-81 nmk, FA-98 nmk, FA-86 nmk (in order of take-off)

plus 1 on same platform as above F-16s (was towed away I think), and at least 1 F-16 parked other side of runway in front of large hangar.

Do you mean the hangar at the beginning (or end) of the TLP ramp? Cause after tlp departure (and cancellation of the polish) they started pulling with 2 Polish F-16s. 1 was in front of that hanger for a while (or just in it).

Hi,

Just got a call from someone who was at Florennes today. Not much of interest that was extra to the tlp. Only arrival was a FAF 2000 the 616.

TLP flew mission, only 2 haf f-16s flew and 1 Spanish EF.

Cheers,
Oscar

Hi Oscar,

You're welcome.

BTW: I haven't seen any numbers from the third Tornado ECR that left monday 18-5 and the hangared Spanish EF2000. Maybe I overlooked the topic somewhere but is there anyone who did read off these 2 aircraft?

cheers, happy spotting,

Per
