This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Some of my pictures of a perfect day, so no disappointment at all on my side. Company was good too, thanks again Frank, for letting me borrow your lenses.
Tried to find some that don't look like the ones before, but didn't succeed all the way Comments are most welcome.

A nice day. Not the best days I have spent in EBFS, but nice.
The space we were put in was small and far away from the runway, I have seen better spottersdays at EBFS.
Anyway here's my take:

All nice pictures here. I also found the spot very nice and giving a nice opportunity for different angles than what we are used to.
My pictures show exactly the same as show here by others so I refrain from posting my pictures (would only be a waste of bandwidth).
One thing that struck me is that on occasios like these the average age is above 40, and the average photobag is LARGE.
Is our kind of hobby dying out after us? And as we discussed on the way home: Is the (nice and around the corner) spotting left after the TLP?
I already heared that from now Wittmund will be the place to be?
regards,
Marc

I don't think Florennes was really nearby. With Cambrai and Reims closing in the near future, the whole area within our 'single-day combat radius' is slowly dying out. Let's hope Ramstein and Spangdahlem will remain active...Flyboy wrote:And as we discussed on the way home: Is the (nice and around the corner) spotting left after the TLP?

Hi,
as many people before I add two pics more to this subject.
The spottersday itself could have been better (why not the same places as during the TDPU link exercise?) but still I was be able to shoot different pics then the usual ones.
If weather permits I will be back next week for a very last time. If not then this spottersday was the very last time I saw a TLP flying from Florennes. Sure will miss this. To see so many times so many different planes and units so close by.
Were to go from now on? I think my home base at Gilze-Rijen.

Well, the 'next generation' has other things to do on Wednesdays: school . And we (the 'next generation') can't take a day off like older people, unfortunately...Flyboy wrote:One thing that struck me is that on occasios like these the average age is above 40... Re: TLP Florennes spottersday 20-05-09
As long as they let us go near Spang.. As far as I know it's mostly hit and run there (tailspotting) on the way back and from Ramstein. I have seen little reports from someone actually spending a day near the fence without being bothered by police. To bad.. Cambai and Reims is nice though and within a day's reach..SquAdmin wrote:I don't think Florennes was really nearby.
