Thanks for your update, A Jet!
Serials of the A-10 flight back home from Bagram to Moody would be very important to me. Looks like they were replaced by the six Mazda81 - 86 'Hogs' logged by Mark.
Kind Regards

Re: Lajes (Azores) (LPLA/TER) - 2009 MIL
Very interesting, Theo03.
A-10C 80-0140 from the 74th FS was part of Moody's original twelfe-ship fighter package which deployed as 75th EFS to Bagram AB, Afghanistan, in September 2008. After the widely known A-10 groundings due to wing cracks, this aircraft (together with some others) was inspected and probably repaired at Spangdahlem AB, Germany, and then returned to Bagram. Related to all of that, this six-ship A-10 flight must be on his way back to Moody.
BTW: Already, there were some other aircraft swaps during Moody's ongoing A-10C combat deployment.
To further update my growing Warthog News, I would be very grateful for any more details of this latest change.
Please note: Warthog News is also the top online source for any A-10 combat deployments.

Re: Lajes (Azores) (LPLA/TER) - 2009 MIL
According to Portuguese photographer and Warthog News contributor André Inácio, on July 28, 2009, five A-10Cs from the 23rd Fighter Wing, Moody AFB, Georgia, arrived at Lajes Field, Azores, for stopover on their way from Bagram AB, Afghanistan, to CONUS. Logged were: 78-0697 (74th FS), 79-0192 (74th FS), 80-0140 (74th FS), 80-0226 (74th FS) and 81-0944. With the exception of 81-0944 (without unit markings, ex 190th FS, 124th Wg, Idaho ANG), these jets were deployed with the original 75th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron aircraft package. 81-0944 was one of the replacements, deployed after partial A-10 groundings do to wing cracks.
