Re: Luchtlandingen 2009 (Airborne Memorial Jump)
Also one C17 Globemaster will fly and the ''Red Devils'', the demo team of the 4 PARA will perform.
The B-25 will also fly like last year, and also the Spitfire with some other planes.
Kind Regards,
Mitchell v/d Berg

Re: Luchtlandingen 2009 (Airborne Memorial Jump)
Last year Reaper01 stated this (and I quote): "They will fly out of Gilze Rijen for Market Garden 2009". Although at the time I thought that was a bit early to be able to tell... In my view Eindhoven is a likely candidate, but I stress that I have NO information that supports this at this time.K-9 wrote:A bit early ( i know... ). Grtz, Rene
We'll see, 6 Hercs is a treat on ANY airbase.
Regards,
Stephan

But where can we find your source of the C-17?
Great news anyway.

Vers van een persconferentie over de herdenking van de Market Garden; er is sprake van tien deelnemende Herculessen, die allen vliegen vanaf Eindhoven. Zes Amerikanen, drie Britten en een Belg. De aangekondigde C-17 komt NIET.
Groet!

Also the Polish prime minister will be present.
PS. Don't know when the Herc's are expected to arrive at EHEH but there might be a nice combination with KB Spottersday possible..

For the People that dont know where they will fly, below a small map.
Number 1 is the Line where most of the C-130's will fly from overhead the Ginkelse Heide.
Number 2 is where the Commemoration will take place, also all the veterans are there.
Kind Regards,
Mitchell v/d Berg

No doubt the above is correct and the hercs will operate from Eindhoven as said.
Just to add that Volkel is open for some hours that day, according to notams:
19 SEP 11:00 2009 UNTIL 19 SEP 13:00 (zulu)
Cheers,
Oz

That may have something to do with the Open Day at De Peel. A demo perhaps?

Or maybe just open in case of a diversion when EHEH is not an option anymore....Fred wrote:That may have something to do with the Open Day at De Peel. A demo perhaps?
