Spotting at Miramar, CA

I will be a few days in San Diego this October and planning to visit Miramar.
Does anybody know where to go and where are the best opportunities to spot the aircraft?

I'd advise you to visit NAS North Island instead. Miramar security forces are pretty nervous and at NASNI you can find a nice spot on the beach to take pictures of the landing aircraft (too bad the S-3's are wfu now).
