Very nice, Frank.
Here is F-4N 150489 VF-301 at NAS Miramar on 25 January 1981

And from the USN demo team, we have Blue Angel #7 taxying to its spot on the ramp at NAS Quonset Pt. on 11 June 1972. I really don't know what Phantom variant they were flying at this time.

That was it! By the way, wasn't it late September 1989 and they weren't flying that day because the fiscal year had ended, which usually means there is no cash left...

I remember going back a day later and they were night flying. We rode with the Supervisor of Flying and he drove his pickup truck so close to a running F-4's exhausts that the hood of the truck started to warp when the Phantom driver throttled up to start taxiing. Maybe not the best spot to park a car but it sure was fun!

Yes, we're getting on a bit. Those twenty years have zoomed by, haven't they?

Nice photos and interesting comments. Minnesota's Phantoms were very pretty, even when subdued.

Lazyweasel those are excellent long-lens shots. And the night shot was done very well-light painting? Perhaps you could provide us with the who, what, when and where of them?

Frank, I see a bunch of bandwidth exceeded blocks where your photos were.
