pandemic white-nose flu on small airbusses?
Forget the Mexican Swine flu, forget Q-fever, forget SARS.... I think something new is spreading!
Last winter I took this picture at Schiphol, but I didn't really think much of it...
last weekend however, I saw this at Dusseldorf... is it spreading, the White Nose Flu!?!

Just checking: can't it be that this just is the exact same replacement nose twice, on different a/c?

I don't think Air Berlin and SAS use each others noses..

Maybe the planes were manufactured under license in Columbia?

Hi all,
The horrifying white nose virus seems to be among us for quite a while already, shot this one on a beautiful evening in May 2008.
Looks like some 'airbrush' on the airbus!
Cheers,
Andres

I don't get it!! On most of these aircraft (except the SAS A319) the radome is supposed to be white.
Shouldn't the question be "Why are these radomes turning black "

But serious......apparently it is a special coating protecting the nose during test flights of new A/C. Maybe a few airlines were to lazy to take it off right away?
EDIT- Source is one of my ground instructors who in his 'spare time' [as he calls it] flies A319/A320/A321/A330 for Kingfisher

Why should they take it off right away? Just a few hours of operational flying does the job equally well.Thermal wrote:But serious......apparently it is a special coating protecting the nose during test flights of new A/C. Maybe a few airlines were to lazy to take it off right away?
It remains to be a funny sight however. those coke sniffing airbusses
