Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Re: Meiringen October 2009
I like the overhead shots Peter, taken from the nr 10 spot on the Scramble airport guide? I wanted to check out that spot last week but eventually didn't manage to do so. I stayed last week at Unterbach, 100 m from the runway or so. In between the showers I took quite some pictures. Here are a few, more to be found at my website: http://foto.viny.nl/#7.0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And some nightflying. Not the best pictures, taken without tripod.

Planecrazy, Porters with badges are new to me. Do you have any detail shots of the badges or can you show us a crop of them, please?
Thanks,
Herbert

Re: Meiringen October 2009
i have made a crop of the markings on the pc-6, it is not really clear , but the right one is from LT Staffel 7(looks like the one in the scramble orbat is not correct anymore), and the left looks like a parachute with also a 7 on the bottom.Herbertvh wrote:Planecrazy, Porters with badges are new to me. Re: Meiringen October 2009
The badge on the right is indeed the current Staffel badge. I'm not sure about the left one though. It could be an unofficial Staffel badge or a badge from one of the support Staffels or Companies associated with LT St 7.planecrazy wrote:i have made a crop of the markings on the pc-6, it is not really clear , but the right one is from LT Staffel 7(looks like the one in the scramble orbat is not correct anymore), and the left looks like a parachute with also a 7 on the bottom.
The structure of the Swiss Air Force has indeed changed quite a bit from what is still published on the Scramble Orbat. Most of the Geschwaders have vanished by now and most of the Staffels are now under direct command of an Air Base Command (Flugplatzcommando). You can find a more recent overview at http://www.lw.admin.ch/internet/luftwaf ... aende.html; click on the links for the "Lehrverbände".
Enjoy!
