Hey,
I've always been a big fan of the Fokker 50 and I've flown with it many times before. I've known for quite a while that KLC is slowly but steady getting rid of these planes and i've heard numerous rumours that this winter the last Fokker 50 flight will take place. Can anyone confirm this or does anyone have an exact date (or a guess) as to when the last flight will take place?
Thanks!

Re: KLM Fokker 50 Last flights?
Alex,
According to the current published schedules, the KLC Fokker 50 will be fully phased out on 27 March 2010 - the last day of the Winter 2009/2010 timetable.
The first step to Fokker 70 introduction on traditional Fokker 50 routes will be January 4, 2010 when several routes - such as AMS-Luxembourg - transfer to Fokker 70.
AMS-Cologne is an example of the last routes to switch. All three Fokker 50 frequencies on AMS-CGN-AMS will seize on 27 March, from the Summer 2010 timetable on 28 March 2010 the Fokker 70 will operate all services.

Re: KLM Fokker 50 Last flights?
Really bad news I think the Fokker 50 is a great airplane, typical dutch design and a very nice sound.
Much better than the Fokker 70/100. Hopefully VLM will fly a long time with this nice machine on Amsterdam,
before all Fokker 50's are gone! This will be the last year to get a KLM Fokker 50 with snow on a picture
(hopefully we get a lot of snow )
Thanks for this information guys!

Oh, I didn't knew that! Too bad. Well, then de Fokker 50 becomes an "exotic" airplane at Schiphol :S
