Buochs (Stans) (LSMU) - 2009 MIL
[Edit: CIV here]
Good evening,
Last week several visits were made to Stans-Buochs aiport. To provide an idea what to expect
hereby the dates & times:
Sunday 24-05-09 (17.40/18.15)
Tuesday 26-05-09 (11.50/13.05)
Thursday 28-05-09 (09.45/10.30)
Friday 29-05-09 (10.30/12.30)
Saturday 30-05-09 (08.50/09.00)
In total an acceptable amount of aircraft could be logged. Pilatus was quite active, for example
at a certain moment 8 PC12's could be seen at the Pilatus platforms. Also the Air Force PC-7's
were a pleasant surprise. I'll divide my log in the different area's visited at the airport:
General Aviation & Pilatus, southside airfield
J-2313 Mirage 3S ex Luftwaffe, preserved on pole
84+33 CH-53G (26-05) HEER, overflight
A-908 PC-7 (26-05) Luftwaffe
A-912 PC-7 (26-05/29-05) Luftwaffe
A-913 PC-7 (26-05/29-05) Luftwaffe
A-915 PC-7 (26-05/29-05) Luftwaffe
A-916 PC-7 (26-05) Luftwaffe
A-917 PC-7 (26-05/28-05/29-05) Luftwaffe
A-925 PC-7 (26-05/29-05) Luftwaffe
A-926 PC-7 (26-05) Luftwaffe
A-928 PC-7 (28-05/29-05) Luftwaffe
All PC-7's are in the new red-white c/s (NCPC-7), being overhauled/upgraded in the hangar directly
behind the preserved Mirage 3. It depends on which (and how many) hangar doors are open to see and read the aircraft. Regularly one ore two can be seen at the platforms for engine runs. in the weekend maybe only 1 or 2 can be read looking through the windows...
Cheers,
Remco

by the way: it is officially just Buochs airport, you can drop the "Stans" bit in your logs.

Seen on 27oct2009 at 1545lt:
L9-62 PC-9M SlovenianAF, returning from flight
GN-812 PC-12 Gendarmeria, Argentine, training flight.
+1 PC-7 MkII South Africa AF, training flight due cockpit modernization.
What should have been a hit and run for the preserved mirage, turned out into a fantastic visit.
A very nice swiss spotter drove me around to all the good spots! Thank you man, you really helped me
