Re: "spotters archive soesterberg"
I have been cleaning up the attic and found a "book" I made around 1979. Don't know why I made it, but it was real fun reading the little stories again.
What I've done is take a picture of a Soesterberg spotter and make up a little story. Remember the stories are all made up and nothing is true (or….).
There are only 19 stories, I will post one every few days.
Lets start with the cover , the Index and Story 1
The well designed cover:
The Index.
Story 1; Featuring Rick Versteeg

Yep Hans, it was July 1979. And here the pic that I shot when that F-4D just went over my head!

Re: "spotters archive soesterberg"
Not too bad, considering the equipment and the bad weather.
Remember that we took the bus from Bitburg station which had Spangdahlem AB on it. To our surprise it drove right on to the base and we got of close to the tower in the middle of the AB. We had a climb over a gate to leave the base.
