NEWS - Winterschedule 2010 / 2011

It is still very early to consider the Winter Schedule 2010/2011 for AMS, but here are some early indications:

- Delhi - KLM to replace B747-400 with B777.
- Paramaribo - KLM to operate 5x/weekly MD11 as a minimum frequency, 6x/weekly in high Xmas season.
- Vancouver - 5x/weekly A330-200 instead of MD11.

and ofcourse other new arrivals will operate for the first time this winter:

- Emirates - daily to DXB
- Garuda - daily to JKT
- easyJet - likely to continue daily flights to PRG, DSA, but not summer season only services to Split

KLM is also planning to re-instate pre-crisis frequencies or to increase the frequency of:

- AMS-ATL-AMS from 5x/weekly back to daily A330-200
- AMS-YYC-AMS from 4x/weekly to 5x/weekly A330-200
- AMS-DFW-AMS from 4x/weekly to 5x/weekly A330-200
- AMS-MEX-AMS from 6x/weekly back to daily B747-400M
- AMS-KIX-AMS from 5x/weekly back to daily B777-200ER
- AMS-LED-AMS from 5x/weekly back to daily B737-800
- AMS-ICN-AMS from 5x/weekly back to daily B747-400M
- AMS-IKA-AMS from 5x/weekly to 6x/weekly MD11

easyJet will announce their new route to Manchester (MAN) in a few weeks.

With the departure of BmiBaby and Jet2 on this route, easyJet will compete against KLM which has the monopoly right now.

KLM is adjusting its schedule to Dubai yet again for Winter 2010/2011. The airline is now planning to operate 2x/day A330-200 aircraft 13x per week.

- AMS dep. 20.50 - arr. DXB 06.20 Daily ex. THU A330-200

Further changes to the KLM Winter schedule 2010/1011 have been released:

- ATLANTA - additional frequency & capacity:

AMS 14:35 ATL 18:15 KL 0621 Non-Stop B777-200 Daily
AMS 14:35 ATL 18:20 DL 9374 Non-Stop B777-200 Daily

- KL621 AMS-ATL-AMS will not only operate daily (was 5x/week) but it will also operate with larger aircraft B777-200 versus A330-200 for a near 100% increase in capacity per week.

- SAN FRANCISCO - additional frequency & capacity:

AMS 11:15 SFO 13:30 KL 0605 Non-Stop M11 Daily

- KL605 will operate daily in Winter 2010/2011 was 6x/week last winter.

KLM has now released its plans for the operation of the 4th B777-300ER which will be delivered in February 2011. Herewith the B777-300ER schedule starting 28 February 2011:

- SFO = 4x B777-200ER + 3x B777-300ER
- YYZ = 7x B747-40M + 2x B777-200ER + 1x B777-300ER (evening departure)
- LIM = 4x B777-200ER + 3x B777-300ER
- DEL = 4x B747-400 + 3x B777-300ER
- KUL-JKT = 3x B777-200ER + 4x B777-300ER
- MNL = 2x B777-200ER + 5x B777-300ER
- SIN-DPS = 3x B777-200ER + 4x B777-300ER

This is a total of 23x weekly B777-300ER departures.

Nieuwe routes voor TFL

AMS-MCO-MIA-AMS, Vertrek op maandag en vrijdag, 11.20 uur met een 763. (Vanaf dan dus weer een rechtstreekse verbinding AMS-MIA nadat MP die route vorig jaar staakte)
AMS-GOI-CMB-AMS, Vertrek op dinsdag om 16.20 uur met een 763
AMS-KTT-RVM-AMS, vertrek op zondag om 06.10 uur met een 73H, in tegenstelling tot vorig jaar nu met een extra stop in Rovamini.
AMS-SSH-RFM-AMS, vertrek op zondag om 09.55 uur met een 73H, nu met stop in Marsa Alam

Verders ook kleine wijzigingen in het Antillen schema:

AMS-CUR-AUA-AMS op maandag met een 76W
AMS-AUA-CUR-AMS op woensdag en Vrijdag en zondags met een 76W
AMS-CUR-AMS op zaterdag met een 763
AMS-CUR-BON-AMS op donderdag met een 76W
Met dit nieuwe schema gaat CUR naar 6 dagen per week, AUA naar 4 dagen en BON naar 1 dag, op donderdag ipv zaterdag.
De genoemde 76W wordt eind oktober aan ArkeFly geleverd en komt van ThomsonFly. Het is de eerste van 3 nieuwere 767's ter vervanging van de oude 763's van ArkeFly. De PH-AHY wordt begin november 2010 uitgefaseerd.

Verders liggen ook de overstap van Natal naar João Pessoa nog steeds in de planning. Geplande omslagdatum is nu 2 november 2010.

Very first slotrequests for upcoming winter is available now, some of the 'highlights':

* Airberlin: 3x daily service to Berlin as well as 4x weekly service to Salszburg all operated by A320 (Salzburg might be Niki)
* Continental: 1x daily B764 to Houston, 1x daily B757 to Newark
* Iberia: 1x weekly service to Palma and 1x weekly service to Tenerife, both on Saterdays both with A320.
* KoreanAir: B772 still planned, no A330 as usual in winter
* Blue1: 2x daily (except Sunday) to Helsinki on the list with MD90, doesn't seem very likely to happen
* Lufthansa: Complete new flightnumber system. Also 2x daily Berlin flights on the list operated with CRJ700's.
* Cimber Air: 3x daily to Billund with ATR72, 2x daily to Aalborg also with ATR72
* United Airlines: 1x dailty B777 to Washington, 1x daily B763 to Chicago
* US Airways: B762 is back on the program i.s.o. B757, however still very likely to change.
* Vueling: 3x daily Barcelona, 1x daily Bilbao, 1x daily Valencia

Any news about the MAPjet flights to Vienna? They were supposed to start flights between Amsterdam and Vienna this summer.
