By your description, it could be handy if you would like to shoot over the heads of bystanders of e.g. a Queen's Day parade or whatever.
That would be possible by turning the cam upside down and holding it over your head.

On this Sony cam, you can pop up the rear display. It works like the old fashioned angle finder, this time on a large screen with live view. Works really nice and I still wonder why 'with Canon you can't...'.

Nope, this was on-base during the "GRAS Snow Photo Opportunity". The photo spot for the Slopes is located outside the fence, and that hill can only facilitate a few people at a time.

Flying activities at the Slopes are a lottery indeed. It's like old fashioned spotting: You never know what you will get. Some days are great, others don't see any action at all.

A lot of people were watching the heli's and turning their back to Old Faithfull! Just like me...
