It's not easy picking the right settings........

I have been playing with two photos tonight (not all fighters). Looking forward to your comments.

Cheers,
Iwan

New border Iwan?

My personal opinion is that HDR is a good tool to add some more contrast in a picture. Keeping this in mind, number two is better than number one.

HDR made the burner look good in number one, but it gives the rest some unnatural effect.

Looking at number two, the sands are "highlighted" which gives some extra effect to the picture. It is the sand raised which makes this picture not ordinary, therefore it is good to highlight this.

I agree with Thijs. Apparently there is a very thin line between highlighted and oversaturated...

Crizz, I liked the original one better. There was nothing to fix in that one, so I'm not sure what you wanted to add with HDR?

Cheers,
Herbert

mmm.. Crizz, your first try on the F-16 on the flightline gives me a good HDR feeling. Great first try! However, with all do respect, your demo F-16 HDR version in my opinion sux. Your original version was already perfect art. Stick with that. Not a pic to use HDR on. :-)

Iwan, I think your Typhoon pic is a very good HDR shot, far better than your Helo sho. I can't really get a HDR feeling with that picture. Helo shot in my opinion is NOT suited for HDR compilation.

Dino - You have some excellent HDR shots, F-18, Tucano, Jaguar, NH-90 is nice example.. MOre please

Spotter4life, it's has HDR potential, but looks a bit over saturated, therefor un-natural. Still it has HDR feeling...(Iwan, your police helichopper version is such a pic..)

For me a great HDR has the potential of ending on the wall, looking like a perfectly exposed picture without having the feeling it is over-done. But the most important thing is = everyone has a certain taste, and that is no point of discussion usually...
