Re: ETAD 08-05-2010
Thought the OH Vipers were about to leave this morning? Did they leave or was departure postponed due to vulcanic ash?
Didn't quite understand the posts about seeing them from outside the base. Is that large hangar where they are/were parked visible? (probably from the eastern approach???)
regards, Per

Ghee,
Cheers,
Marco
This is even new to me. If someone familiar with this spot can give more detailed directions (or GPS coordinates) I think it would help a lot of people in the future.Supervisor wrote:As I already mentioned, the ramp can be seen. From a road turning right into a field southwest of the Village Beilingen wich is located just southwest of the airfield.
Cheers,
Marco

Well,be all warned that this "point" told by supervisor is far away from that ramp, app. 1-1,5 km!!! so you need a dam good glas (optolyth etc.) to read your numbers by your self!

I know this spot and you can get forget about reading numbers from there. It's more like 3 to 4 kilometers away.
Answers will be questioned.....
Re: ETAD 08-05-2010
It's indeed 3 kilometers away, but early in the day, at sunrise, with a good and big scope (using 40-60x magnification) and a tripod you might be able to make out the last three of each aircraft. However, it is very, very difficult indeed.evhest wrote:I know this spot and you can get forget about reading numbers from there. It's more like 3 to 4 kilometers away.

Re: ETAD 08-05-2010
Well,
Tripod and 60x scope are not the issue. Directions or a point on Google Maps still are
Cheers,
Marco

Did the Vipers leave today (and if so, what time)? I'm hoping to catch their arrival at Springfield.
