Re: Avro Vulcan topic
XL426 is stored at Southend for many years. This picture was taken in February 1995 just after it completed an impressive static engine test. I remember that the sound was deafening. Unfortunately I only had
a big zoom lens with me and there just was not enough space to capture the whole beast. When invited in the cockpit I was amazed to find it such a cramped space for such a large plane. As if it was added as
a sort of afterthought.

XH558 at Leuchars Airshow 2010.
Unfortunately a (rather simple) brake problem prevented XH558 from flying into Leuchars at Friday September 10th, 2011. Fortunately the licensed mechanic flown in from Leuchars fixed the problem and XH558 participated at the show on Saturday. Note the Dutch F-16 demo and Harrier at the background.
Looking forward to see this marvellous example of british aircraft engineering of the sixties this 2011 airshow season.

A few Avro Vulcan pictures from the Leuchars Airshow 2010.
Let's hope that this magnificent aircraft will fly again during the 2011 airshow season.
