That program incl. RIAT has been confirmed there by medebruijn (and given the use of language I suspect the real poster is Mike's father, so jb5's boss).Stratofreighter wrote:http://www.scramble.nl/forum/viewtopic. ... 38#p406438 mentions possible (and no more definite assurances than that ) participation by the Royal Netherlands Air Force with their AH-64 Apache demo.
Time will tell whether RIAT will or will not again see a Dutch Apache flying demonstration this year...

Apparently RIAT will play host to an RC-135 this year.
A Nimrod R1 from Waddington would also be nice...

What is your source about an update tomorrow? If we take the time between the first and second update this year, and when the second was published, I guess we might have to wait for another week.patchman wrote:Im looking forward to the update tomorrow.Anyone have any idea of what maybe show up in the update?

Re: RIAT RAF Fairford July 17 & 18 2010
You're not going to believe this....
Taken from http://forums.airshows.co.uk/viewtopic. ... 28#p226428" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which is about Farnborough SBAC airshow, the one following up on RIAT...
And as this aircraft is to travel a long distance anyway RIAT could certainly benefit!
But of course: Seeing is believing
The reporter ( http://www.apg-photography.co.uk/about.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) is rather reliable though...

Don't know what days the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JF-17_Thunder" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; should be present at Farnborough (only trade days? And I haven't seen any mention of it on the official Farnborough website yet...) but this would be a major coup!Attended the Media preview yesterday.
The stand out military aircraft attending is the CATIC JF-17 Thunder, certainly the first time the aircraft has appeared in the "west"
Other flyers:
A400M, M346, C27J, Eurofighter (Both Alenia and RAF) F22, B52, F18, F16, C130J (USAF)
Static
C295, ATF42MP, 737AEWC, E2C, C17, Omega 707 (Suspect this is an error as its bring the F18's over)
For the civilians, A380, Sukhoi SSJ (latter in Business aircraft park for some reason) and 777 + 787. 787 dependant on test schedule should arrive Sunday before show and depart Tues/Weds
And as this aircraft is to travel a long distance anyway RIAT could certainly benefit!

And even more updates last Friday!
No word officially on the JF-17 Thunder regarding RIAT, but Farnborough SBAC may see a Pakistani example. Now, if only SBAC would update their official website...

Well, it IS a military aircraft...
Still no JF-17 Thunder mentioned, even though rumours are an Antonov An-124 is to arrive at Farnborough on the 8th of July...
Will it, won't it

It also remains strange that the Romanian planes remain 'TBC' on the official website as they are mentioned as 'Star of the Show'.

Pity, was a pleasant surprise...-Is the Merlin the one thats only ment to be in static this season? , going to be good seeing it though so not complaining
-Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but AFAWK the (f) is a typo. There are no plans to fly apart from the arrivals and departures!

Here's hoping she will eventually be added to RIAT after all in the end!
