Some nice pics you got there, well done. And welcome to the board. Only a small suggestion: try to upload your pictures in a slightly smaller size. These are a little bit to big to watch

100% Agreed, Nice start on the forum and welcome! :scramble:

Please for next time: the normal size of a picture is 1024x683 pixels! So you can keep that in mind the next time you're going to be posting on the forum!

Welcome aboard again!

Kind regards, Jeffrey.

Wow! Suddenly I noticed the ammount of stress on the lower fuselage of both 757s! Look at all those bumps..
(I mean Picture 2 and 7!!)

Kind regards, Jeffrey.

Well.. I have a big screen. A 1024*768 does look quite small on my screen :)

Then you have to think about all those who have 1280 pix wide screens or less! and besides, 1024 brings the best picture quality.

Kind regards, Jeffrey.

I was wondering the same thing, anyone with info on this?
2 birds with the same type of bumpy fuselage. That normal?

I have!

it are 757s, they are pretty old I suppose. You can spot it on older aircraft! The Old School 737's from KLM for example. They all seem to have it. It's because of the pressure changes on the fuselage during the short flights (1 hour hops for example). And by the years it gets worse.
It's because they dont fly in stable (Stabiele) condition for long times. So it expands, schrinks, expands, schrinks all the time by the altitude!

Aircrafts like 747-200's seem to have less noticable stress because they make long flights, not much changes in pressure on the frame, because they cruise for so long.

I've Read about this a few months back on Airliners.net..

Hope I've clarified this a little!

Have a good night.

Kind regards, Jeffrey.

You can also find a lot of 747's with buckled airframes.

This isn't true. Buckling occurs when a frame sustains a larger stress than the ultimate stresses that the material is capable of withstanding. With other words, the frame is plastically (permanent) deforming instead of elastically.
