Anybody for an ETA?
According to LH-sources here in FRA ETA is 1600lt on 19MAY.
Okay, now they even mention it on the local radiostation every day.
The "Frankfurt am Main" (as the first LH A380 will be baptised) will arrive as mentioned above, on the 19th around 1600lt.

I'll leave the photo's to someone else, then...
Thanks for keeping us updated, though, Gerard
If you push the stick forward, the houses get bigger, if you pull the stick back they get smaller.

And imagine..... I do not even do civil myself
Don't be sorry that you will not be able to go. If they mention it on the radio, I recon there will be thousands of tourists blocking the view of "professional" spotters anyway.
This plane will be around for some years to come, so you will get another chance to shoot it.

According to a message on the Frankfurt Aviation Forum, the spectator's terrace in Terminal 2 (McD) will be closed at the start of this winter.
I contacted Fraport to verify it and unfortunately this message was basically confirmed!
Unless someone comes up with a short-term plan to eliminate the financial loss, generated by this non-core-business (as they call it), the closure will be definite

Unbelievable! I never thought an already existing viewing terrace would cost so much to maintain (keep clean, security, ...?) that it would even be considered as a cost-reduction measure for such a multi-million € facility. Or that an admission fee would not cover that cost.
Or would it have something to do with the Fraport expansion plans. Maybe they plan to add a layer to T2? Would they perhaps foresee a visitor terrace at the planned T3 (wouldn't make much sense to me, but I'm no expert).
Is there a petition I can sign to vote against it?

On the Frankfurt-forum it is mentioned that a charge of 20+EUR per person would cover the cost.
I think nobody is willing to pay that much.

I suggest you become a member of the abovementioned forum (it's in German though), to be kept informed about these developments.
I have no info on this yet, but a terrace on T3 would be nice (sun in the back!).
