As far as I know the MoD is not allowed to charge a fee! So in these times maybe understandable! Though a pitty!

Dutch air force a big delusion!!!!!!!
Re: spotter day tiger meet 2010???
Now now now, please mind the language. This isn't the Tattle Lounge. Of course we all would've liked a RIAT-like grandstand with free or even paid access to the marquee where drinks would be readily available but still, there's a Tiger Meet and you can always go to Volkel and have a good view from outside the fence.efa78 wrote:Dutch air force a big delusion!!!!!!!

Since when does the RNLAF (or any airforce) has the line "Please spotters and grant them access when they wish" in their mission statement? It's still an exercise, no fun and play day for spotters.. Be grateful what is offered to us..

Re: spotter day tiger meet 2010???
What is the problem really? This year there will be even two spottersdays to photograph the same aircraft from the same squadrons that attended Kleine Brogel in 2009, Landivisiau in 2008, Orland in 2007 etc etc.
How is that a pitty? I think it would be great from the Volkel organizers to give 1000 people free entrance..Nilson wrote:As far as I know the MoD is not allowed to charge a fee! So in these times maybe understandable! Though a pitty!

@DJ. A pitty for person 1001 and more. A few people will not be able to enter, regarding the number of people!
I am nog negative towards Dutch MoD!

Why o why should you be negative towards the Dutch MoD? You're probably also 'negative' towards the Staatsloterij for not giving you 27,5 million Euros? Face the facts, as said before: it is an exercise, and 1000 people will have the opportunity to get in, for free. That's still a lot of people, "spotter 1001" and others will have to make do with arrival shots. And Volkel is not a bad airbase for photography from outside the fence!Nilson wrote:@DJ. Re: spotter day tiger meet 2010???
And now for the good news: At the Airforce days only 400 spotters were allowed at the base, (and I recall there were not that many more that wanted to get in, according to the organisation) so with 500 a day even this still stretched to (or maybe even over) the max MoD tries to do whatever they can for us spotters . The only thing that is said is that there will not be a public event (like an airshow or something, which has not been at every NTM in history, but is a bonus if it happens) during the weekend so IMO the only people that can moan are our "beloved" "dagjesmensen".Hurricane wrote:How come? BTW no airshow should not come as a surprise, as there could not be an extra amount of noise allocated for the NTM (one of the conditions set by Prinsenbeek to allow for the exercise to take place at all), so it has to been done within Volkel's normal noise-budget for the year.

what I say, is that many people remain outside. Instead of making two-day spotter could then use a single, simpler

The AF HQ is not located in Prinsenbeek but in Bredaaviodromefriend wrote:one of the conditions set by Prinsenbeek to allow for the exercise to take place at all.

doesn't matter, the railway station is called prinsenbeek. Prinsenbeek however is located on the other side of the A16.
