From that site I gather that the Tu.128's still flew as late as 1986. if only one of them could have been viewed in Eastern Germany shortly after the wall fell....RobertS wrote: All those "Tuschky" photos from pilots, originals are here:

And Damgartens 773.iap. was NOT MiG-21SM operator never !...
We are in 2009, and I am very tired, when I am reading the old, false "data" from old Western sources in a current book...
He copied, repeated many false data from Western sources about the older years.
Dear RobertS, just to “disappoint“ you no more and to correct “our basic problems to identify the MiG-21 subtypes“ we now changed the mentioned DAMGARTEN “02“ to MiG-21bis and the WUENSDORF “50” to be a MiG-21SM in our records. Anyhow, questions remain. Do you (or anybody else) have the serial numbers of these airplanes?
By the chance, let me tell you that we never intended to repeat “many false data from Western sources” at all. For 25 years till 1989 our little staff checked and re-checked every bit of available information and personal findings not only once. By doing so and in respect off thousand little bits, peaces and glimpse it was obviously not possible to correct all “false data”. Our intention was, and still is, to document the enormous activities of the Soviet Air Force (SAF) in Germany over the period of 50 years – not an easy task at all! Welcome in the club RobertS!
Sad enough the former Russian military community wasn’t a great help so far. I am under the impression that even historians on their side (if there are any working on the matter) haven’t a clear picture at all – even 20 years after it all changed! Russia still has a somewhat “disturbed” relation to history, my experience (!)
To give an example from our side, a “black hole” in research is still the period when the SAF entered the jet age in the late forties in occupied Germany (Yak-15/-17 and MiG-9). Exactly when and where was it happened and who was the operator? What was the overall result in operate these early birds in the Central European Theatre (accidents, effectiveness, weather etc.)? Any help on that, any pictures at all?
Since you are from Hungary, may be you can confirm or comment the following (false?) sightings: 10 Yak-24 Kalocsa May1967, and 5 Jan1966, also 12 at Kiskunlachaza Jun1966. Perhaps the answer will be in your book? Thank you RobertS.

Some really nice shots from Kuschevskaya, author Yuri Orehov MiG-21-instructor pilot:
http://airforce.ru/history/kacha/kacha_12.htm
These were the planes of pilot-students from - Afghanistan, Angola, Benin, Cuba, Ethiopia, Hungary, Iraq, Yemen, Vietnam...in late 70s early 80s
MiG-21MF
MiG-21bis
Very bad quality landing shot, but probably usable for modellers, the right-side of the "25" >

It is true also, during the Soviet era, rare very rare, were the photos about the red army, especially about the top secret Mig 31 foxhound, as also Mig 25, Su 27. I discovered this forum very by hasard, after trying to search Mig 21 Fisheb.
