Before the show, we were seen by the LOCALS at this spot and they alerted the police. The Greek versions of Starsky and Hutch caught us red handed (actually, we were in the car contemplating our next target) and at 08.30 we were at the police station in Kalamata answering the obvious questions. After the photocopying of our passports, back on track and at 09.15 on the static of Kalamata.
Photographing was allowed, except for the AB205, but jotting down the numbers had to be done rather secretive.

I saw at that day T2's 160064 and 67 in a hangar. (Together with 74, 84 and 97.)
On the flightline I saw (157)043, (157(049), (158)904, (158)910, (1600)59 + 60, 61, 62, 66, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 76, 77, 79, 80, 81, 82, 87, 91, 92, 95, 96.
Regards,
Arjan
Re: HAF Open days 5-8 Nov
Tried too hard to get all T-2's in numerical order so, indeed, inserted a few of the hangared ones. Will correct it tomorrow.

Preserved near gate

During the busride from the gate to the static, one or two Phantom's were noted between the shelters and a row of them on the otherside of the field. After leaving, a halfhearted attempt was made to find that spot but we were reluctent to have another encounter with the LOCALS so were soon on our way to Araxos.

We had to wait before being escorted to the static and two F-16's made a full stop after a couple of low approaches, unfortunately we were unable to get them.
However, another group went past the flightline (from outside) and caught one more F-16, unknown if this was one of the four or one of the pair that landed.
014 F-16
After that, we went looking for the A-7 storage/dump area. We encountered a platform filled with Corsairs, all looking operational and in good shape.
A-7 platform, eastside
158021, 160736, 154477, 156787(tiger rudder), (156)753, 156790, (159)648, 156750, (156)747, 160866, (159)967, 158824, (159)645 and one noted as 590 below the cockpit.
A-7 + F-104 dump

(159)999, 159948 all A-7 + most probably a few more but blocking each other.
33639, 22314, 32722 F-104 + a lot more.
Before we could concentrate on the Starfighters, we were seen by the LOCALS, they blocked our car with a tractor, phoned the police and alerted the military on baseside. It took some time to convince the military we were only looking at the old aircraft (yeah right) and after checking the camera we were allowed to go. Unfortunately at that moment the local police turned up and for the second time that day we ended up in a police station.
