We had to wait before being escorted to the static and two F-16's made a full stop after a couple of low approaches, unfortunately we were unable to get them.
However, another group went past the flightline (from outside) and caught one more F-16, unknown if this was one of the four or one of the pair that landed.

After that, we went looking for the A-7 storage/dump area. We encountered a platform filled with Corsairs, all looking operational and in good shape.

Before we could concentrate on the Starfighters, we were seen by the LOCALS, they blocked our car with a tractor, phoned the police and alerted the military on baseside. It took some time to convince the military we were only looking at the old aircraft (yeah right) and after checking the camera we were allowed to go. Unfortunately at that moment the local police turned up and for the second time that day we ended up in a police station.

I can confirm A7E 158825, this was read from a c/n plate in the cockpit. The C130B that departed was indeed 948. We also saw 1..407 at the flightline, and I think you are right about that "special serial paintjob".

That is correct. I noticed you have two more T-2's at Kalamata, 160069 and 160079. These were in the flightline?

Static
No, just kidding. On our drive from Agrinion to Tatoi, we drove past Megara. Lots of helicopters parked on the ramp. After Elefsis we decided to try and get some of them. By the time we climbed the hill near the gate, sun was almost gone but a few UH-1's parked near the gate were seen. Trees now obstruct viewing the main ramp from the hill.
ES620, ES688, ES694 UH-1H
Next stop the parked Chinooks, but these proved to be impossible due to the darkness. Some other aircraft were seen between buildings but stopping was not an option because of the LOCALS. Clearly not totally satisfied, we returned early next morning.....

The last UH-1 nearly was one too much. When parked at the old gate, getting out of the car to get this last one, the bikers driving towards us turned out to be the police. But they slowly drove past, hardly looking at us, so we quickly read off the serial and hastily departed to Tatoi.

Re: HAF Open days 5-8 Nov
Nice logs, but, ... do you really think it was a wise way to do the trip this way? Almost on every base you had contact with the police ... I don´t know if this is really something to be proud of and good for the future ...
Re: HAF Open days 5-8 Nov
What gave you the idea we are proud of our contacts with the police, we are merely (OK, in a juicy way) stating the facts. And that is, its still difficult to do any spotting in Greece. One could get the opinion it's easy when looking at a certain photopage elsewhere on the forum.F17_114PM wrote:Nice logs, but, ... do you really think it was a wise way to do the trip this way?
