It is not an illusion...
This day, this aircraft has made any landings with gear doors opened... testing from Airbus. Why ? I don't know

It is not an illusion...
This day, this aircraft has made any landings with gear doors opened... testing from Airbus. Why ? I don't know

I'll give it a try; when normal landing gear extention fails (this normally happens by hydraulics) the remaining option is a manual extention. With this move the landing gear doors are lowered by gravity (unable to close them like during normal operations) and this result comes out.
