Today I looked with Google Earth for a clear picture of what once was EHSB. I noticed that there are stil now big white crosses painted at the beginning of the former runways. I always thought that this was common at closed airports?

Look at the date, this picture was taken... It was still active at that timeToday I looked with Google Earth for a clear picture of what once was EHSB. I noticed that there are stil now big white crosses painted at the beginning of the former runways. I always thought that this was common at closed airports?

It's an old photo indeed. The little spot on the platform seems to be a Cougar.

The photo on Bing maps is more recent, it's after closure of EHSB you can see the white crosses on the begining of the runway 27/09
Even this photo is not the present nowadays almost all HAS type 1 are demolished and the motor hush aswell.
