Hello all,
We all know how to follow the planes by (15min. delay) Casper.
Is there anyone who knows to follow, for us as Scramble members, the action by air, in Libia ?
I know that it is almost impossible to follow millitary airplanes on the net but it might be an advantage for us tot follow them in this conflict.
Reason :
Mideteraranion fleet is in front of the Libian coast.
The USS Kearsarch and USS Ponce are in front off the coast.
This power is 4000 Marines on the flow.
Followed by Harrier air to ground support.
Not to mention the Subs who are listening with their great ears and are stand by with their Cruise Missiles.

Please let us all know
Slapen doen we 's-nachts.

Your remarks are not based on knowledge of the true facts. I find them very inapropriate and in fact insulting.

And what advantage do we have with Subs? I am a qualified diver, but I can tell you that I don't feel the urge to monitor them! And I doubt Casper will show them by the way!

Someone is feeling guilty here... the government only reported the incident until right after the elections.
Sirte, centre of the Qaddadfa clan, was known to be in the hands of Gaddafi forces. I think it was naive to think that a Lynx could fly in and out without trouble.

And why is it insulting?

It is a fact that the lynx is a noisy chopper, it a fact there was no support and it is a fact there is a 3 man crew onboard.
Furtermore intell clearly failed.
I think it is a insult to the crew to be send on there way like this.
Compromise is failure.

But you have no clue where they were going to pick up people, you have no clue how many forces were there and you have no clue if therefore the noise even mattered.

That is no fact. Up till today you didn´t even know the Lynx and the three crew men were there, so how can you be so sure no other forces were there?

And you don´t know what weapons they carried
jp 74 wrote:Furtermore intell clearly failed
And again you don´t know that. You have no clue who they needed to pick up and you don´t know how important that person was. Therefore you cannot say how badly this operation was needed and you also don´t know if they were aware of the risks. Sometimes it is needed to take calculated risks. We have no clue what decision was taken, so stop butchering people for taking that decision.

Maybe a small sidenote. Our hobby involves that we have acces to sensitive information (Ask de americans who flew businessjets into Rotterdam. Also take off times in Aviano AB were of interest to some people in the Balkan.) We must realise that we are involved in sensitive business and that discussing these things while the 'game' is still unfolding may (or at the end will) have inpact on the lives of others. Literally!! Some times its better to stay quite. These things in the middle east are started because of the availability of (social software on) internet, and the internet is quick and quite. You never know who is reading along. Furthermore is this specific forum continuesly indexed by the search enginges (given the bots who are logged in) so anything we share here is instantaneously open to the rest of the world.
Just to let you know...

The weapons they carried were the weapons that are used during operation Atalanta. And which weapons that are is no secret (and anyone using a bit of logic could work that out for themselves, given the fact, and published by the MoD on the same internet as we are typing, the initial duty for F803 was to take over the duties the RNLN has to cope with around Somalia from F804). Those weapons have been shown by the Libyan television, which movie has also been broadcasted this night by NOS.

Silent diplomacy, term will pop up without any doubt in the days to come (and of course Mr. Rutte and Rosenthal will say that it has been used from days before the for this government so important elections. Sorry if anyone feels I mistrust them, IMO there are too many people in this cabinet that have failed in other occupations beforehand).

Why didn't show the Libians the helicopter already on sunday to the world press???

Yep,

Due to elections last Wednesday, dirty Mark and his 'diplomatic' team managed to keep this MEGA f*ckup 'highly' classified (quiet).
