Libyan Government fighter aircraft shot down near Ras Lanuf during battle on March 5th, best view of the wreckage is at 1.07.
Any suggestions on the type?

Interestingly, one of the pilots was said to carry a Sudanese ID card, showing he was an accountant....
Reports suggest the pilots corpses were found but there heads were not, which does not seem unlikely given the large area of the wreckage.

CNN says its a SU-24MK:

Rebels near Ras Lanuf said they shot down a Libyan air force plane, a Russian-made Sukhoi Su-24MK that crashed in the desert. The debris was spread over a kilometer (about half a mile) and the headless bodies of two pilots were found at the site.

a helicopter is said to be shot down by rebels during fighting in the east, Al-Jazeera reports.

And more:

Al Jazeera Arabic reports from Benghazi that anti-Gaddafi fighters shot down two Libyan air force jets between Bin Jawad and Ras Lanuf, and that two pilots - both reportedly Syrians - have been arrested.

Let's wait and see, if this is all true.

Perhaps we can start with mentioning the aircraft types that survived (might be shorter as nearly the entire airworthy fighterfleet seems to be shotdown and two deflected Mirages) ??

The pilots of the Su-24 appear to be a Syrian and a Libyan national.

at 02.12 you can see where the wrongly quoted serial "538" probably comes from.

And referring to the helicopter:
"Three rebel fighters speaking at the eastern rebel-held port of Ras Lanuf said they had seen the helicopter fall into the sea. Further details were not immediately available." Reuters.

Just seen on Sky News, images of an aircraft being shot down by rebel forces. Aircraft seen flying over Benghazi, and shortly afterwards falling from the sky in flames, and exploding in a huge fireball. Unfortunately too far away for identification, but at least there is proof for another victory by the air defences.

But aren't those fighters? Or have they converted them into bombers? I'm not so into russian hardware, but it made me wonder how Khadaffi could use these jets against ground based rebels?

Looks like a very last-minute ejection.....
