Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Finally, bring any photo criticism understandable and to the point, not cynical or offensive! Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Wow the Emirates 74F is amazing.
I always say a boy can learn more at an airport than at any school.

Great shots! Would you like to share your camera settings with us? (and I suppose you used a tripod?)

Thankx for the nice reactions.
My camera setting per photo can be found at my website.
(klik the picture in the gallery and move your mouse to the 'i' on the right upper corner of each photo, you will find EXIF there).
Yes I used a Tripod (Manfrotto), and I used also the Mirror lock up feature on my camera (wich reduces camera shake from mirror).
And I also use a remote control to release shutter.
Mostly I shoot at the 'Bulb' setting on the camera and then counting the seconds myself. (or release the remote just before the aircraft is going to move).
The big problem is, that aircraft are not standing still all the time so you get al lot of shots that can go straight to the trash can.
Like this one:
Furhtermore I load the photo into lightroom and do some color adjustment there, thereafter exportto photoshop CS5 and do further resizing and sharpening there.
Shooting in the dark at a holding point is very stressfull... sometimes I wanted to shout at the pilots, STOP you f.... b!&#stard!!!! Trying to get mooncrossings is even more stressfull!!!
