USA TRIP: NM, AZ, CA
Hi All,
After my first trip in 2009 I was a kind of addicted to the enormous spotting opportunities in this great country so a next trip was planned soon afterwards.
This time I was armed with some better camera stuff which resulted in some nice pictures.
Our trip included a lot of base visits in the next States: OK, TX, NM, AZ, CA and NV.
After some busy days I am now able to post some more and final stuff:
1. (Las Cruses)
No less than 26 T-34's were here on spring TDY, which is from January till April! We unfortunately arrived just before sunset at our base visit.
2. (Mesa Gateway)
3. (Mesa Gateway)
4. (Mese Gateway)
Mesa Gateway is always worth a visit and especcially in the weekend, when the field is used for fuelstops.
5. (AMARC)
6. (AMARC)
During a photo flight above AMARC a lot of pictures can be made to ID the birds at the bone yard, like this amount of phantoms
7. (Marana Silver Bell)
During this photo flight also some tough and go's where made at Marana, which is great to ID the helicopters!
8. (Phoenix Sky Harbour)
Also this field is very populair for refueling during the weekends.
9. (Luke)
10. (Luke)
Luke AFB is the F-16 capital of the United States with 6 active Squadrons. Nice to see a former agressor with LF code.
11. (Yuma)
MCAS Yuma is for me the most frustating base as they change the runways all day, nevertheless a very interesting base.
12. (El Centro)
Our visit at NAS El Centro was not that much and a bit frustrating as 25 Meredian T-45's were expected the day after. The MH-60's were here to support the Blue Angels in case of troble.
13. (North Island)
14. (North Island)
15. (North Island)
Just after the big show at North Island we were welcome to visit the base again, really a nice visit wityh almost no limits.
16. (Miramar)
17. (Miramar)
18. (Miramar)
19. (Miramar)
Blessing in disguise, that is was a rainy day at our Miramar base visit because of the back light all day under sunny circumstances.
20. (Edwards)
21. (Edwards)
22. (Edwards)
Visiting Edwards AFB is always a highlight were you have nice weather and very rare birds, like this MiG-17!!
That's all folks....Hope you liked them again???

Re: USA TRIP: NM, AZ, CA
If the pics are a refelction of your trip then that must have been one nice trip.
Brings back fond memories. Did my own flight training there in Arizona. Still can't understand how you guys never have any problems photographing at Luke. Was send away every time I tried.
Who owns the civillian Scooter?

I always say a boy can learn more at an airport than at any school.
