Scramble 384 is out now!
Hi all,
The May 2011 issue of Scramble has been released this week!
This month's edition features specials about:
- USS Intrepid New York
One of our readers provided us with a report of a visit to the USS Intrepid which nowadays is a museum, located in the harbour of New York. Besides aircraft that operated from the carrier in its operational years, also foreign aircraft from allied and former enemy air forces are on static display on the flight deck.
- Mitsubishi MU-2, the turboprop 'hotrod'
Because of many accidents in the past, the future of the Mitsubishi MU-2 looked far from bright. But with the introduction of new regulations for the pilots flying them, further operations became much safer. In total over 1500 airframes were build since its development in 1962. We have all airframes listed with their individual history.
- Spitfire, 75 years young.
On 5 March 1936, the first Supermarine Spitfire prototype made its first flight. To commemorate this fact, now 75 years ago, Gert-Jan Mentink had a look in the history of the Spitfire and made a 13 page article of this WWII successor.
Our monthly returning topics:
- Movements and trips Netherlands, Belgium + Rest of the World, civil and military.
- The latest news, both civil and military.
- Updates on the world's aircraft fleets, civil and military.
- Aircraft mishaps in Dustpan and Brush.
- Wrecks & Relics.
- Warbirds.
- Scramble Intelligence Service.
We are currently building a new website that will replace the one launched in 1993. If you want to be kept up-to-date about the progress we are making and other Scramble news, join Scramble at one of the social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
WHY NOT SUBSCRIBE?
And be the first to know what is going on in the military and civil aviation world and the airfield near you. Besides the monthly magazine, which averages about 150 pages (based on 2010 average), you will have a deeper access to our on-line databases (which are regarded the most informative in the world), airfield guides and lots more on our website. You also get a discount on all our shop items. The magazine is in English, check out http://www.scramble.nl/mag.htm for all the details and this issue could be on your doorstep very soon.
Furthermore, we are looking for editors for:
- Helicopter news
- Military Movements UK
Do not forget to download the Military Updates PDF at http://www.scramble.nl/members/index.html.
Cheers,

Goedenavond,
ik heb Scramble nummer 384 nog niet gehad.
Kunnen jullie dat alsnog opsturen?
Bij voorbaat dank,
