Oh come on guys, try and search a little for yourself. Take a look at Google Earth and count the roads leading to the base. There is exactly ONE on the east side (with preserved aircraft) and ONE on the south side. So take your pick...

But for the spottersdays we have to go to the South gate, anyone coordinates for that position?
Best regards Rob.

Re: Izmir 4-5 June - 100 years TuAF - Spottersdays
Are people really too lazy to take a look at GE, or what? I say again, there is only ONE road leading to a gate on the south side and that is here: 38°29'41.43"N 27° 0'9.67"O
Oh, and in the one minute I was looking, I also checked the international airport for you, here: 38°17'33.40"N 27° 9'21.64"O
And the main railway station in Izmir: 38°25'20.58"N 27° 8'40.22"O
Do you also want me to find your hotel for you, a nice restaurant and an ATM machine?

I hope that Eric will read that post and maybe passes this idea to the organisation...
I think that for everyone who sent registration for the spotter days is better to publish on the official website a complete list of the 'SPOTTER ON THE LIST'.
For example I sent my request after 200 click but until now I didn't get any reply...if the organisation will show the list I think it will be better for everyone; also becuase it seems impossible to have a reply by email from the organisation.
Cheers
Giovanni

Not too lazy but I saw three entrances to the south at GE and wondered which one. Glad this issue is solved now by more supportive fellows ...ehusmann wrote:Oh come on guys, try and search a little for yourself. Take a look at Google Earth and count the roads leading to the base. Im pretty sure this is meant for People without car transport?
And not that they have changed there plans to everyone getting on the train instead of the gate?

It gets even better; food and drinks will be available on Friday and Monday. I didn't ask but assume that you'll have to pay for it

I've mailed the organisation and if you go by car, you can park at the carpark South.

Because today I received an email from the organization that spotters should get to the trainstation. But we will have to leave aroun 1:30h on monday, so it doesn't work for us. We will travel by car to the south gate.
