Re: Albacete-Los Lianos (LEAB) - 2011 MIL
LOG 17 may 2011
Finally, I had a day at the fence of Albacete!
I took the earliest KLM flight into Madrid where I was picked up by Jose and Angel, muchos gracias. From there, we picked up "Starman" who arived from New York. With this diverse team we set off for Albacete. It took around three hours to arrive at the fence of Albacete and the TLP wave had just started. We moved quickly to the take off position at the east side to see the waves depart aka spot 1. Thereafter, we did our best to read the serials of the remaining aircraft on the flightline. This is not possible during the day, with all the heatwaves, but you can see all the TLP aircraft easily. Then, it was time to take our positions for the landings at spot 4. If you stand on the dirt road in between the large trees, you can take good shots with 300-400mm. If you move forward, you adjust your mms while taking care of the tree line.
The situation is ok at Albacete, but only if you take some distance from the fence.
Flying, take off started at 15:00LT, last landing at 17:00LT
