EDIT: am slightly in doubt now...China clarifies Turkey visit
China denies sending aircraft to Turkey.
18-Oct-2010
October 18: Various media outlets have been reporting that Chinese Air Force Su-27 Flankers and MiG-29 Fulcrums had been exercising with Turkish Air Force aircraft at Konya Air Base recently under Exercise Anatolian Eagle, but here at Key we decided to await some evidence.
The Chinese Air Force has issued a statement saying that “joint training” has been undertaken with the Turkish military between September 20 and October 4, but that no aircraft were involved.
In April 2009 the Chinese Air Force Commander General Xu Qiliang visited the Turkish Air Force Commander Hassan Al-Aqsa to agree “military exchanges” in the form of joint training.
However, the statement goes on to say that the Chinese Air Force has no air-to-air refuelling capability and that Turkey is beyond the range of its fighter aircraft.
Clearance to fly over Afghanistan was also never agreed, it said.

I searched a little bit on the internet and found this pictures.
They should be Chinese Su-27 in Turkey.

I don´t know. Do you think it is a fake?

Some more links to websites that seem to confirm that Chinese fighters flew to Turkey:

Nice, if true.

If true, it may not be so nice......Slijfie wrote:Nice, if true.
Re: "NO Chinese fighters in Turkish exercise." But those photos?
I am a bit sceptical at the pictures. You can see at tu-154 behind the Flankers. Maybe a support aircraft from the PLAAF?

Pictures from this link http://club.mil.news.sohu.com/r-shilin- ... 3-900.html are shooted in IRAN...and inside anatolian eagle web site there is also the chinese flag at the moment.

Re: "NO Chinese fighters in Turkish exercise." But those photos?
If (and that really is IF) these are taken in Iran, then the pictures only prove that Chinese aircraft visited Iran. They don't prove anything about participation in a Turkish exercise IMHO.....Pictures from this link http://club.mil.news.sohu.com/r-shilin- ... 3-900.html are shooted in IRAN...

Re: "NO Chinese fighters in Turkish exercise." But those photos?
from 2005 onwards the Chinese and Russian armed forces have a combined exercise called "Peace Mission". Until now almost all types of fighters of the PLAAF inventory have joined in these exercises starting with the JH-7 in 2005. The photos shown of the J-11 are very likely to be during one of these exercises. Also the mentioned statement I doubt very much since the PLAAF publicly shown their air-to-air refueling capability at the various Zhuhai airshows. Also why should the PLAAF make a statement to clarify a rumour which is circulating.

No indeed, that certainly doesn't look like Konya. And where is the Turkish press on this? In the past the authorities reported quite open on the participation on Israeli and Pakistan airforces in the Anatolian Eagle exercises!

Re: PHOTO: Turkish exercse, Phantom + Chinese Sukhoi's formation
Now that makes it interesting. Clearly a Turkish Phantom and the Suchois are chinees indeed, I wonder how many (european) military commanders knew of Chinese fighters excercising in Turkey.

Well, if these were taken from a Turkish publication their intel officers should have informed them about it (and otherwise they should read this forum more often )

Hi,
Sorry senior moment with my memory, of course it was Volkel.
During a chat with Turkish at Volkel last year, one pilot mentioned he was dissapointed at being tasked to Volkel , as some of his unit were flying with Chinese Su-27's. He mentioned it off hand & not prompted by any questions from me about them.
Make of that what you will......
