Airbus Vueling vs Mirage 2000 (intercepted?)
Forum rules
This is the forum to share your recent aviation photos with the rest of the community, being photos not older than six months at the moment of topic opening. Theme-based topics, not about recent events, should go into the sub-forum. Although we will not screen beforehand, we reserve the right to delete any images, especially if clearly unsharp or otherwise low in quality. For more information on how to upload you images, check this post. In topic titles, please use airfield names in stead of just codes, and be clear about what kind of photos your viewers can expect (e.g. CIV/MIL, location etc.). Simultaneously, do not feel offended by criticism per se, but simply explain your motives, taste et cetera, or ignore if you wish so. |

Re: Airbus Vueling vs Mirage 2000 (intercepted?)
Couldn't it be that the other Mirage was on the right side of the Airbus?
Nice video, especially the part when the pilot is making pictures himself.

Very nice, in both cases it is probable they are a two-ship, you need a shooter trailing My guess is it's an Alpha scramble due to being a normal airliner, but ex military up front could have pulled some strings with ATC ... Who knows;)

Indeed, one jet will be on the left side of the cockpit trying to communicate with the pilots. The second jet will fly behind the airliner, ready to take a shot if needed... That's the procedure.Andras wrote:Very nice, in both cases it is probable they are a two-ship, you need a shooter trailing
I once saw an airliner flying over our house with two dutch F-16's that way. That evening it was on the TV news. Seeing it live gave me goosebumps. Being in such a plane must be a freightning experience!

So the original poster was smiling while he was shooting the video, but in the meantime four live Micas and Magics were aimed at him... Hmmm...

Guys, the pilot is just a spotter who had an open spot in his log....
That's why he took some pics...

Very strange indeed, but totally awesome, what a chance.
Strange the mirage did not move to the cockpit side to warn the pilots of their socalled comm failure, or to wave at them as friends.
Maybe a friend of the pilot was onboard in the cabin and this was some kind of bet?
In all my years above france or else i have never been intercepted, boehoeh.

Yes , this was an intercept (although procedures say the interceptor should stay out of sight !). Crew failed to make contact with Maastricht ACC after handover from Reims. Many attempts were made to make contact including calling the Airline Ops Center in Barcelona to see if they could ACARS the aircraft. My understanding is they face paying a possible ''call out '' fee of upto 5000euroTwintail32 wrote:Last Friday I was on Vueling flight VY8366 from AGP to AMS, playing with my camera.
Then a Mirage 2000 showed up.... interception?

Re: Airbus Vueling vs Mirage 2000 (intercepted?)
Just wondering why I get the following message when I try to watch the video here in Canada.
Never seen this before.
And yes, I see it says based on copyright grounds.
But isn`t this just a video that was shot by somebody on that flight?
This video contains content from SME, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.

Use Google and you would have know:Sowald wrote:This video contains content from SME, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.
It means that the content owner Sony Music Entertainment (SME) is not allowing YouTube to broadcast the video in your region.
So I guess due the music of Kings of Leon...
Re: Airbus Vueling vs Mirage 2000 (intercepted?)
is it not common practise that they picture every intercepted plane? They normally also provide tail numbers by radio to bandbox so....Gietje wrote:Very nice! Is that pilot in 103-KD taking a picture of you at 2:00 minutes ?
Some nice banking at the end by the way.
