DAT tours LHR 2/3/4 june + banking shot 'HEAVY'

Post by rutger330 »

hello all,

First Of all, I am aware of the fact that there already multiple topics for LHR, but since We went to a different place the last day...
I thought I make a new topic for this... (for the mods: if you don't agree of me doing this please remove my topic and place it in the right topic, I respect this totally :)

at the 1st of june we were picked up at RTM airport by bus...
after some stops to pick up more people (like goldeneagle ) we arrived in Calais around 03:00 were we had to wait 1 hour for our boat at 04:00
at 06:30 we arrived in Dover where we still had to drive about 1,5 hours to our Hotel near LHR.

we Neared the airport and Saw RW27L for landing, we dropped off our luggage in the hotel and we drove to hatton cross...
sadly when we arrived there RW's had been changed into RW09L landing/ RW09R departure...

so we've been thrown off at T-5 and walked to the spotting place 09L...

starting off:

thanks tomba,

I can understand the softness but I didn't want to oversharpen the pictures.. but I think those pictures could use it...

I will re-edit the soft ones and given them an extra bit of sharpning and upload them again :)

I always thought this runway wasn't used for landings due to noise reasons. :?

it still happens only with most of the A380's since their terminal is shorter taxiing out from 09R then 09L also the Brunei 777 and Jet airways 77W also use that runway... I would say in a whole day about 5 to 10 aircraft will land there.. and that's it...

Some awesome shots! Especially the banking ones ;)
Somehow I didn't see any Arik 737's when I was there, in 1.5 day :(
Cheers,
Gideon

To my opinion the trees make this shot more beautifull than most of the "regular" landing-shots. Great pictures !
