Re: Zeltweg 1/2 July 2011
Unless I have overlooked, does anyone have the serial of the PC-7 that performed on the Friday morning?
And to confirm, it was Typhoon 7L-WI that performed on that same Friday morning? Difficult to read from the car while stuck in traffic. Organisation was terrible with regards to arriving at/departing from the parking grounds!
Ta,
Pat

Thanks for correcting me, Frank. I must learn to read what is there instead of what I think is there ...frank kramer wrote:Actually, 7T- IS Algeria... HOWEVER, the PC.7 was registered T7-FMA, and T7- is indeed San Marino...

@Vinny:
Good point. MM54438 is not a likely candidate and besides it's the first production example (AA001). I checked my photos again for #2 and I can offer you now MM54439 instead which is the first airframe produced for the Frecce Tricolori (AD001). Unfortunately the Scramble database lists this machine as resident on 'roundabout Via Sisto V with Via Castelfidardo'. The 4 is clearly readable, the 3 as well so the stencil letters for 8 and 9 are easily misread. But even if the second digit is a 5 instad of a 3, MM54458 or MM54459 weren't a PAN either.
@Rene:
Yes they were recorded on Juli 1st/2nd, 2011 at Zeltweg.

Re: Zeltweg 1/2 July 2011
hi digitalus, did you happen to check the nosewheeldoor? I noticed at Izmir that most MB339s had the last three digits of the serial there in red. [edited twice after the reply below by digitalus, which I had not read when I edited my message for the first time]: just got home and checked my pictures of one of the rehearsals at Izmir; there, the nosewheeldoor of ship "2" reads "480", which would make it MM54480. This tie-up was confirmed (again: at Izmir) by member Crizz, who is a reliable source that had access to the flightline where the Italians were parked. Incidentally [for Rene], there is also a list there (in the airshow topic for Izmir) of all MB339s that were logged there.

Re: Zeltweg 1/2 July 2011
Yeah, tell me about it... The "80" part of the serial of ship "2" looked a lot like "30" or "39" in my pictures, so might that be the reason for the apparent misread?

@Frank:
Unfortunately I got only one useful photo of the taxiing #2 so it could be the MM54480 which would pefectly match the version PAN (AD009). The typeface of the red stencils is not very spotterfriendly so I will agree that #2 should be MM54480. Thanks.
