MAS details A380 destinations for Summer 2012:

Malaysia Airlines expects to receive 5x Airbus A380 in 2012 and plans to operate the superjumbo jet from KUL to Europe.

The airline, which has six A380s on order, said it expects to take delivery of five in 2012. During the Summer 2012 schedule the MH A380s will mainly serve the KUL-LHR and KUL-AMS routes, according to the carrier.

According several aviation-sources Malaysian will join the OneWorld-alliance soon, announcement expected coming Monday June 13. If this becomes true I highly doubt MH will send its A380 into AMS next year.

Well Malaysia knew before this announcement that they are seriously talking with OneWorld about joining their alliance, maybe even finalising the details. So i would say, the A380 is coming.

KLM has released the first advanced Summer 2012 schedule, which includes the following changes:

- Introduction of the first Airbus A330-300 aircraft to Lagos, Accra and Washington Dulles.
- Increase in frequency to Shanghai from 12x/week to 14x/week, plus B744 replaces B74M on some flights.
- Increase in frequency to MIA (5x/week), UIO - GYE (4x/week), DOH-DAM (6x)
- Reduced frequencies on PTY to 5x/week from 6x/week
- Aircraft capacity adjustments on many routes: JFK, SAO, DAR, TYO, KIX, NBO, etc.

From what I heard from within KLM, there's going to be a lot of MD-11 on the Caribbean route, and the A330-300's will not necessarily be used exclusively on ex-Martinair routes. Which leads to the question: will this mean that holiday flights such as HAV/PUJ/CUN etc. have both Economy and World Business Class service?

easyJet: As expected the new Southend Airport EZY base will have 2x/daily service to AMS. Operations are to start in April 2012 in time for the Summer Olympics in London. The Olympic Stadium is just 45 train mins. from the airport.

This will be EZY's 19th destination from AMS and the 10th UK destination.
