Re: Libya - Adla redeployments

Post by Tintin »

Hi,

According to last news concerning "Operation Harmattan", it seems that many Adla aircraft will be redeployed in a next future.
Rafales B and Mirage F1CR should go to Sigonella rejoining Marine Nationale Atl2.
The Mirage 2000-5 should leave Souda as there is no air-to-air threat over Libya.

Hi Maurits,

Thanks for these updates, very interesting. I paid a quick visit to Gioia del Colle on the 5th of July, when I happened to be in the area for my family holidays. Some additional information on the above:
Tornado ZD790/099 was noted in front of a shelter already on the 5th.
Tornado ZG775/134 was already noted on July 5.
Other Tornado's noted were ZA542/035 and ZD739/087, the latter returned from a mission.
RAF Typhoons noted: ZJ933/DF, ZJ927/QO-M, ZJ928/BX, the latter also returned from a mission, fully loaded with LGB's. Impressive sight!

Bas,

Would you mind sharing your full log instead of only a few additions?
Not to big of an effort in my point of view, you 're interested in other people 's information yourself as well.

And for those keeping track of all that goes on eyeball Mk.1 reports are still far more valuable and trustworthy then all the high-tech stuff being used nowadays.

Hi Joost,

This is all I have seen regarding the airplanes of the UN Coalition. The rest of my log (5 local Italian Typhoons plus some W&R) does not belong in this topic.
