:?: The BK117 is indeed smaller than an Mi-6 but on the other hand it is much larger than a C-160 with far fewer wheels and both have much better VTOL capabilities. An C-160 however is much smaller than an An-22 which were seen at Stendal quite often contrary to Mi-6' which were not based at Stendal.. :?

The BK117 larger than a C-160?

Nice pics btw, the angle on the BK117 is very nice! ;)

Hi Vincent,

I like your first shot. The tree in the background makes it even more attractive than just a clean C-160.

Funny to see that you were at Stendal. I would expect minimal flying activities there, yet you did go there with your camera. Was there much flying going on, or did you just get lucky. ?

Cheers,
Iwan

The best glider club in Holland had it's summercamp there, that is the reason :)

Nice pics Vin!

Looks like a chaff/flare dispenser to me.

Thanks Iwan! There where actually two C-160's doing some touch and go's.I was there for two weeks with our gliding club. But we where indeed lucky to see these aircraft that close. There is a lot of VFR/general aviation traffic when the weather is good enough. Trauma helicopters are also common visitors at Stendal.
