Did a quick check and most of the hotels in Leeuwarden are full, probably most rooms in use by defence personel and guests

Might have left this a bit late, but can anyone recommend or point me in the right direction of a hotel or guesthouse that is either in Leeuwarden itself or near the airbase, and still have vacancies for two people?

What cheap camping can You recommeneded near Leeuwarden. I 'd like to go with friends with a tent.

What time the gate to the airbase is open in the morning on Friday?

This is even closer. http://www.camping-taniaburg.nl/
You could walk to the airbase from there. (10-15 min walk)

Op dit moment (zondag 11 sept 09.00lt) staat de volgende info op hun website:
*Er zijn nog 2 caravan plaatsen vrij voor de vliegshow
*Een paar tentjes is nog mogelijk
*Camperplaatsen zijn vol

At this moment (Sunday 11 sept 09.00lt) the following is on their website:
*there are 2 caravan places available for the airshow
*a couple of tents is still possible
*motorhome places are not available
