Hej!!
Last weekend I visited two airshows here in Sweden. One on Saturday the 3rd of September at Örebro Airport and the second on Sunday the 4th at Jönköping Airport. For both the participant lists were nearly similar with a few deviations. Both airports are rather small and provide a nice cozy atmosphere for a friendly airshow party.
The shows included the standard: from Spitfire to Gripen displays. Besides these and the Lansen and Tunnan from the Swedish Airforce Historical Flight nice additions at Örebro were the Il76, a common visitor, the 'Checker Tail' Harvard and the Sk15 Klemm. The next day the places of these three were taken by a SwAF C130, the Biltema Mustang and some others.
At Örebro we joined the party inside at the showground, where a special staircase was available for photographers, in Jönköping we witnessed all from outside the fence.
The pics:
Örebro Flygfest
#1 Biltema's Spitfire at the parking
#2 Lansen readiness
#3 Vampire from Västerås Flygmuseum coming in
#4 J32 giving a powerful show
#5 Nice top side pass
#6 The Il76 came back after take off for a low... very low fly by!
#7 After which he was off to Afghanistan with two army vehicles onboard
#8 Historical Flight's Golden Tunnan
#9 Then it was time for the Gripen demo
#10 With a very high speed pass, leaving some nice shockwaves!
#11 Swedish registered "Checker Tail" Harvard
#12
#13 Sk15 Klemm waiting for feul
#14 The show ended with a real bang: a demonstration of the Rolls Royce engine as in the Spitfire left a real thick smoke curtain over the field! Not to mention the enthusiatic presentator with his nice long stories about the engine and the family built car! The highlight of the day!
Jönköping Flygkalaset The next day:
#15 Pits flown by one of the Team60 pilots
#16 Lansen going for his second show that weekend
#17
#18 Sk50 Safir beating the sun
#19 Fly by of the Hercules. I dont get those Swedish displays, just a take off and two passes.. that is. But its better than nothign!
#20
#21 J29 Tunnan burning again!
#22 Pulling it hard
#23 Two former SwAF Hkp5s
#24 And the Gripen passed by again
#25 The show was over and participants left immediately... as did we.
Thanks for watching and please feel free to comment if you like anything posted or not and would to provide some suggestions for improvement (even better)!!!
Hejdå,
Corné Uittenbogaard

I'd rather depict atmosphere and the 'heat of the moment' making a catchy photo than to reflect the real situation and real colours showing a boring photo.

Why is there an extra windscreen within the canopy of the Lansen?

My guess it is there in case the main canopy gets ejected some how from the plane.Thermal wrote:Why is there an extra windscreen within the canopy of the Lansen?
That way the backseater will not get the full force of the wind in his/ her face.
