Whether this was a lucky escape or not depends on several circumstances which cannot be determined from just viewing this movie. I for one would be very curious to know the outside air temperature....

True Bennie, however, this seems not so much as a lucky escape as plain stupidity to me. What on earth were they thinking? This was regardsless the OAT not just to much but way to much snow on the wing and flaps. The refreezing flowback from the heated leading edges coulld cause the boundry layer to separete big time....
